The strictest oxidation requirements

Oxidation is an important indicator of oil quality. Low oxidation levels provide protection against harmful free radicals, improve sensory properties and extend shelf life. Our production process is carried out in an oxygen-free environment with strict temperature controls to minimize exposure to oxygen from start to finish. In addition, we add natural antioxidants to the finished product and each batch undergoes careful testing.

We use state-of-the-art equipment to measure every phase of the oxidation process with high accuracy, and we use both liquid and gas chromatography to detect even the smallest amounts of unwanted byproducts. Our oxidation limits are less than half of the limits stated in the GOED monograph.

Sustainable production facilities

We are convinced that our production facilities are based on hydropower. In addition, our facilities use fish oil byproducts as biofuel. This method creates no waste material and virtually eliminates the carbon footprint of Ballstad production.
