I'm Odd Roar Olsen, born and raised in Ballstad, a small fishing village in Northern Norway. On this small Lofoten island, 200 kilometers above the Arctic Circle, Ballstad, home to about 1,000 people, has been the center of fishing and people's livelihood for thousands of years.

Life on an island in northern Norway

Growing up in a place where everything is earned through hard work and perseverance was a great opportunity for me. It instilled in me a strong belief that success comes through self-sacrifice and through merit. This upbringing formed the core of my belief that dedication and unwavering determination lead to positive outcomes in life. The journey was both rewarding and challenging.

However, after working and living outside Norway for some time, I noticed that my body and mind were not functioning optimally. This led me to investigate the reason for this and I realized that my diet at the time lacked sufficient fish and omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 was an integral part of our lifestyle in our childhood and was just as commonplace in Mediterranean countries as the use of olive oil. The lack of omega-3 in my diet affected my performance.

When I lived in Istanbul, the lack of access to fresh omega-3 fatty acids became even more important as my wife was expecting our first child. Of course I wanted to do the best for the health and well-being of my wife and child. This personal experience further highlighted the need for a reliable and high-quality omega-3 supplement that meets specific nutritional needs during pregnancy and beyond. For several years I have personally brought omega-3 supplements from Norway to meet our family's needs.
