Recommendations from the Norwegian Health Department

Over 10,000 scientific studies have been done on the effects of Omega-3. Most of them has been positive and show a clear connection between intake of Omega-3 and the maintenance of good heart, brain and eye health.

Omega-3 (EPA and DHA) helps to maintain the normal function of the heart. Positive health effects are achieved by daily intake of minimum 250 mg EPA and 250 mg DHA.

In addition, omega-3 (DHA) contributes to maintaining the normal function of the brain and vision. Positive health effects are achieved by daily intake of minimum 250 mg DHA.

The Norwegian Department of Health recommends eating three fish meals a week, of which at least 200 grams should be fatty fish such as salmon, trout, mackerel or herring.

If you do not eat fatty fish or don’t eat enough fatty fish, the Norwegian Department of Health recommends a daily supplement of omega-3 from fish oil.
